Memory, be it physical memory or digital memory, connects us to the past allowing us to relive moments, or remember people that have had some kind of emotional impact on us. But what happens when this connection is broken?

This is the theme I want to explore within this project. My first attempt at exploring this theme is using old of my parents as children but also other relatives. One way In which I tried to portray this deterioration of both forms of memory is making a series of shots of the same photo, each one more distorted than the other.





Another potential idea which I will be pursuing this week is taking a portrait of a friend, or maybe just atranger on the street, and then print it onto paper. The only difference is I will print matte onto glossy paper, or glossy onto matte paper, allowing the ink to run, physically distorting the image.
